Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

Trusted by professionals yet learnable by anyone, LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is the only workshop of its kind. Updated continually to reflect new knowledge, LivingWorks ASIST has been empowering people to provide skilled, life-saving interventions for over 35 years.

This ASIST is open to members of staff at Tanglin, and schools in the Singapore CPD Network group. This training will be held in the PDC in accordance with social distancing guidelines.

Registration closes on Monday 16th November.

LivingWorks ASIST is a two-day face-to-face workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations.

At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop, you'll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive.

Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring your comfort and safety.

Our accredited ASIST trainers are:

  • Clare Anderson Au, Assistant Head Senior School
  • Clare Lancaster, Educational Psychologist

The course is 2 days long and it is essential that participants are able to attend for the complete duration of the course. The courses starts at 8:00 and finishes at 17:00.

Participants must arrive on time for the start of the course. If participants are late it either delays the whole group which is frustrating for all the other participants and trainers, or the group starts without them. If the group starts without all participants present, there is only a small window of time where participants can arrive and still join the course. If participants do not arrive in time to join the group, they will be unable to attend the rest of the course and will be charged the full course fee.

Refreshments : lunch and break time snacks and tea/coffee will be provided. Please bring your water bottle as we do not supply water in plastic bottles on site. We have lots of water fountains you can use.

Dress: - please dress so that you feel comfortable. Casual wear is fine.

More information about the course can be found here:

"A really interactive, practical course that has given me essential skills in suicide intervention. The confidence to ask directly if a person is thinking of suicide is daunting, but this course has given me so much confidence. Essential for both my personal and professional life."
